SB-MD5 Check Utility is an application you can use to calculate the MD5 checksums of any files, regardless of their format, as well as two compare any two files by taking into account this signature. It has straightforward options for all user levels.

Installation and interface

This is represented by the colors green (files match) and red (files don't match). Otherwise, you can paste the MD5 hash of a file from the Clipboard for comparison.
Moreover, it's possible to show results in uppercase, as well as to copy any of the two signatures by clicking on their corresponding buttons. There are no other options related to the program's functionality.

Evaluation and conclusion

As expected, it quickly computed MD5 checksums while remaining light on system resources consumption, thanks to the fact that it required low CPU and RAM to work properly. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.
On the other hand, SB-MD5 Check Utility doesn't integrate batch processing support, in order to calculate the MD5 hashes of multiple files at the same time. We must also take into consideration that it hasn't received updates for a long time. Nevertheless, it serves its purpose and can be used for free.
