Screen Capture is a straightforward tool that can capture the entire screen and save it to file in BMP format.

Capture the whole screen and save the photo

It offers a more convenient alternative to the PrintScreen key, which implies opening an image editor to paste the photo and then save it to file. Instead, this method allows you to skip some time-consuming steps.

Just download and run

The software package is wrapped in a single .exe file that can be downloaded and copied to any favorite directory on the disk. To fire up the app, you just have to double-click this executable.
However, Screen Capture is not entirely portable because it depends on .NET Framework to work properly, so make sure this Windows feature is turned on (it's built into modern Windows versions).

When it comes to the interface, the developer prefers to keep things simple. Screen Capture has a small window with just two buttons, one for taking a snapshot and another for quitting to the desktop.

Set the output directory and BMP file name

Clicking "Capture" immediately grabs the full screen and displays a file browser window, where you're invited to indicate where you want to save the BMP file and what you want to call it.
Worth mentioning is that the app's window is not shown in the screenshots, nor is the mouse cursor. You can pin it to the taskbar or create a desktop shortcut to be able to quickly capture the fullscreen while conducting various activities on the computer.

Simple, yet effective snapshot tool

Although we expected richer options and configuration settings from a screen grabber, Screen Capture is convenient and easy to use, ideal for users who don't want to worry about customizing a bunch of features just to be able to capture the full screen and turn it into a BMP picture.
