Screen Ruler

With gadget systems like Yahoo! Widget Engine, the desktop can be enhanced with different interactive objects. Some only provide system, or online info, while other provide more comfort in daily activities. For instance, Screen Ruler can help obtain the right measurement details when working on computer visual design elements.
Needless to say that Yahoo! Widget Engine must be installed on the target PC so Screen Ruler can perfectly function. The gadget itself comes in a lightweight package, which doesn’t take a lot of time with the installation process, and can be stored on a thumb drive along with the rest of the gadget collection.
Once on the desktop, it can be placed in any position, depending on what needs to be measured. In this regard, default widget options can be used to set window level priority to top, just so the element under development can be accurately measured.
The main gadget control element shows the current cursor position, given it’s inside the ruler boundaries. Rulers can be made visible for both horizontal, and vertical measuring. it’s enough to just drag edges to make set distance, or gradually reveal 100 pixels through dedicated controls. Related gadget preferences can be used to change color of elements for better identification.
