SdfBrowser Portable

SdfBrowser Portable is a handy tool intended to help users of the Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition. It is designed with a single purpose in mind, namely to explore the contents of a SDF code database.
The application can run queries against the input SDF file, retrieving various details about the database content and displaying the data in an organized manner. Its interface is intuitive enough to meet the requirements of both advanced database administrators and beginner users that only want to find out information regarding their database.
SdfBrowser Portable provides support for version 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 of SDF database files, enabling you to perform conversion operations in order to upgrade a file from a lower version to a higher one. Database drivers are included.
Once a SDF file is loaded, you can view its tables and access information regarding each column, the stored data type, default values and the maximum length of the stored characters. Users can generate and execute selection, insertion, update and deletion queries or use the ‘SdfAuto Editor’ to
automize some common tasks.
You can dump or compact the database, create, update or repair databases, generate DDL or export the query results. The query editor features syntax highlighting, word wrapping, line numbering and autocomplete capabilities, while the history of all your commands is safely stored, enabling you to access it whenever you need to. Additionally, the database can be assigned a password, just to make sure that your data is safe from prying eyes.
SdfBrowser Portable can be launched in multiple instances for comparison purposes. Since it is a portable application, it does not leave traces in the system registry and can be run from a USB flash drive. Although simple in its essence, it can ease the work of database administrators that work with Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition.
