SegDSee Description
SegDSee is a lightweight application, aimed at seismologists, designed to help you view headers and seismic data contained in SEG-D and SEG-B files.
It features a modern-looking user interface, with easy-to-access functions and a tabbed layout. However, it does not offer any documentation and does not include sample data files.
Supports multiple data formats
The application supports single shot file and Lacey Tape on Disk (LTOD) encapsulation and can open the following file formats: SEG-D 80XX, 0015 and Standard SEG-B.
View seismic data and customize settings
You can navigate to a preferred directory and view all the compatible files detected in that folder. The application then displays their name, FFID and type.
The main program window features two tabs, for managing headers and channel sets. You can modify the scale of the displayed information by scrolling the mouse wheel or by manually setting traces and time values.
Also, you can choose to view all the channel sets or individual ones and select between wiggle, gray and color display modes.
SegDSee allows you to choose if the band pass filter should be used, as well as select between automatic gain control (AGC) and normalization. You can also specify the window length.
Offers no documentation or sample files
SegDSee is a specialized application, aimed to scientists who wish to view and analyze seismic data. However, it would help if some documentation was included, as the program can be difficult to understand for less experienced users.
Also, the application does not include any sample files, which would allow users to test it without having access to a seismic data source.
Overall, this is a useful application for scientists who need to analyze seismic data stored in SEG-D and SEG-B files. It is aimed at experts working in seismology, but offers no documentation or sample files, making it less accessible for novices.
