Sermons on the Web Publisher Description
For those who provide sermons to churches on a regular basis, it can be useful to archive the talks for other church members, so they can listen to them at their convenience. Sermons on the Web Publisher is an application designed to help users compress and store religious audio files, along with details on the sermon or talk into a website archive.
A one window interface that is difficult to work with and awkward to customize
Sermons on the Web Publisher operates with just one window that displays most of the relevant information required for the application to run. There is a place for users to load the audio recording of the church service into the program, which can then compress and reformat them for easier storage.
The main window allows users to provide the service with a title, designate the speaker, write a custom description, theme, scripture details and designate the type of church service. Unfortunately, editing the speaker, theme and some of the other details is difficult, the application doesn't have an intuitive way of changing them or even creating new ones.
A decent array of additional customizable options that help users control the program
Users can customize a range of additional details that are not present in the main window by accessing the Options window. Users can change the church name, the website and archive details that will receive the upload, the audio bitrate and the audio frequency.
The program also includes the option to upload to two separate websites at once, allowing users to send the information to an archive and more accessible website at the same time. Sermons on the Web Publisher could include more options, especially on the compression quality of the audio which is lacking in detail.
An interesting attempt to help churches archive sermons, marred by poor customization
The biggest problem with Sermons on the Web Publisher is the clunky initial interface that uses dropdown menus for some areas instead of field texts, which makes it significantly harder to edit than it should be. It might have been best for the application focus on providing entirely customizable text fields and improving the archiving system, while letting users select the topic of the audio. The program could easily be used to archive any audio, rather than just religious audio.
