ShareWatch Description
ShareWatch has been created to offer users a simple way to see who is connected to a computer and check the shared files they are accessing.
The application does not require to be installed and it is launched by simply double clicking on the executable after its extraction from the downloaded archive.
Simple looks
Looks are minimalist and straight from the beginning the tool shows the activity in the network without any previous preparation. All the network shares are constantly monitored and anyone accessing a resource is shown in the application window.
Interrupting its activity can be easily done either from the toolbar or from the menu bar, under Connections.
Despite its minimalist appearance ShareWatcher provides several options that can prove to be most helpful. One of them the possibility to stop sharing a computer resource, an operation that requires more steps if carried out from the operating system.
Easy to handle configuration options
In the case of ShareWatcher all you have to do is access the Properties window and the option becomes available, and its effect is immediate.
The application does not keep a constant eye on the shared resources but instead checks for activity with a specific frequency that can be modified from the configuration panel.
This is also the place where you can instruct it to show only the shares that are currently in use and enable the display of the full computer domains when they are known.
Useful monitor of network shares usage
ShareWatcher comes in handy when you want to check who’s accessing the files shared over the network. It can also be used to monitor remote servers to the same purpose. The application is easy to use and does not require installation.
