shellNewSettings Description
Perhaps one of the most irritating things about Windows is having a cluttered context menu. If you have dozens of applications installed on your computer, then there is a good chance that you need to scroll through a bunch of utilities to create a new document or folder.
ShellNewSettings is a lightweight piece of software that enables you to modify the new entries in the context menu so that you can get the shortcuts that you need or that you are actually using.
Comes with a minimalistic, yet intuitive interface
More often than not, cleaning up the context menu entails you open the regedit.exe and look for the items that are displayed there. Since they can be stored in multiple locations on your computer, the operation may not always be easy or successful.
The application provides you with a user-friendly alternative and includes a dedicated UI that makes the process smooth and fast. While it is not a looker, the interface is intuitive and does not require advanced technical skills to navigate or operate.
Allows you to disable the newshell entries you do not need
Functionality wise, the utility is as easy to use as it looks. Upon launch, you can preview all the entries that appear in the new section of the context menu. You can seamlessly remove the shortcuts for the applications you are not using by unchecking them and then hitting the Refresh button in the upper section for the changes to take effect.
On the other hand, you should know that the program does not come with a function that allows you to add new entries to the context menu. Consequentially, if you need to add shortcuts for the software solutions that you are using on a regular basis, you need to do it manually from the regedit.exe.
An excellent tool for decluttering your context menu
In the eventuality that you have dozens of options in the new section of the context menu that you barely use or need, then ShellNewSettings can help you remove the obsolete entries with just one click.
