As the name clearly suggests, SimpleTextEditor is word processing utility comprised of basic settings. Siimlar to Notepad, it lets users quickly write down ideas and take notes, but does not provide advanced features.

Hassle-free installation and simple interface

The setup procedure does not take a long time to finish. As far as the interface is concerned, SimpleTextEditor has a minimalistic structure, displaying several buttons on top.
It is possible to cut, copy, paste and select all text, undo and redo actions, insert the current time and date, use a search and replace function, as well as to print documents and save them to TXT format (with UNIX line endings or UTF-8).

Customize basic options

In addition, users may configure font settings, change the background color, enable word wrapping mode, show a status bar, as well as make file associations with one click. There are no other noteworthy options available here.

Evaluation and conclusion

As expected, the app has minimal impact on PC performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. There were no kind of issues thorughout our evaluation, as it did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. All in all, it serves its purpose and can be easily figured out.
