Sleeper

Sleeper is a lightweight Windows application designed to help you shut down, restart, or log off your computer, or send your monitor to sleep.
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to activate the power save mode on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.
Sleeper runs quietly in the system tray until called upon when it reveals only a few configuration settings to tinker with.
The program gives you the possibility to select the desired mode (shut down, sleep, restart, log off), and lets you assign a hotkey for showing the primary pane of the utility.
Additionally, you can open the Task Manager directly from the main window of the application.
On the downside, it doesn’t offer support for an automatic mode based on a user-defined time, so you need to manually send your monitor to sleep.
Since there aren’t many dedicated parameters, even rookies can master the entire process with just a few clicks. During our testing we have noticed that Sleeper carries out a task very quickly, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process.
As it would be expected from such a small utility, it remains light on system resources, so it doesn’t hamper the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.
To sum things up, Sleeper seems to be the right choice in case you are looking for an easy-to-use desktop enhancement utility. It can be easily configured and installed by all types of users, regardless of their experience level.
