Playing music on the computer is one of the many advantages of owning such a device, right next to the watching of videos and browsing the web. Nonetheless, if you value your tunes and you want to make sure you get the best user experience when listening to them, you also need to find the audio player that best suits your needs - one of the many options on the market is called SMP3.
The application does not need to be installed onto the host computer so you can carry it on your portable USB flash drive and run it whenever you want to listen to some audio tracks.
You can add files within the playlist of SMP3 using the dedicated button or you can simply drag and drop them onto the main window, then choose the one you want to play. Alternatively, you can load a previously saved playlist, provided it was created using SMP3 (other formats are not supported).
The app supports various types of tunes, such as MP3, WAV, WMA, FLAC, APE or 3GP, and once you have selected the ones you are interested in, you can rearrange their order to your liking. You can also rely on the shuffle button and randomly re-organize them if you cannot decide which one should play next.
While listening to a track, you can analyze its metadata as SMP3 displays information regarding the artist, song name, track, album name, genre and sample rate - however, these details are only provided for the audio files that already come with ID3 tags.
Additionally, SMP3 features an integrated equalizer for quickly adjusting the sound of your tracks, and it also offers you the possibility to choose the visualisation mode you prefer.
All in all, the application is more than a basic audio player, as it also includes an equalizer and a visualisation window, while also allowing you to close the monitor, open, close or lock the CD tray and run the screensaver.
