Snap Plus Description

Most computer applications, or maybe even all of them run in their own window, some resizable, some not. A little while back, a clever function was introduced in Windows, allowing you to change the size, shape, and position of any window by dragging it close to a screen edge. With this in mind, Snap Plus comes as a small enhancement to this feature.

Simple design makes it easy to use

The setup process only takes a little while, and doesn’t require much of your attention. At its core, the application was created for Windows 7 in order to enhance window management by quickly letting you position them to several preset screen locations. However, you can install it even on latest Windows iterations.
Running it brings up a compact settings panel, fitted with a neat preview of keyboard buttons you get to work with. These can be changed either to a Default or Laptop layout, with the difference being one uses the numpad, while the other keys that are sure to be found on any laptop.
Besides keyboard buttons displayed in the preview area, you can combine Ctrl, Alt, and the Win key, in case other hotkeys are configured on your computer. Other options only serve visual purpose, such as the tray icon color, as well as icon tray double-click action, that either brings up the settings menu, or opens up a list of system locations.

Move windows to several fixed locations

Sadly, the result is not really what’s expected. Using the configured combination of keys moves the active window to screen corners and middle areas, as well as the center. However, they are not resized, in fact, there’s no built-in option regarding size.
This has a major impact on overall functionality, because some more manipulation is required in most cases. Moreover, you can’t create custom screen layouts to have more areas where to send active windows.

To sum it up

All things considered, we come to the conclusion that Snap Plus comes with good intentions, but the set of features it wants to deliver is disappointingly shallow. The straightforward aspect, and ease of use are appreciated, but the lack of a window resize options cuts out too much practicality.
