Speedy setup and simple GUI

The entire setup procedure is fast and uncomplicated, and the only notable aspect about it is that you must have .NET Framework installed. As far as the interface is concerned, the utility adopts a simple .NET Framework form, so it doesn't put emphasis on graphical elements.

Open and crop photos

The main app window contains just three buttons, and one of them is in charge with triggering the file browser which you can use to locate and open a picture. It's displayed with its full size and you can draw a custom region with the mouse cursor, depending on which part of the photo you want to extract.
This action brings up another window that lets you preview the cropped section and save it to file by indicating the output directory, file name, and extension. If you're not satisfied with the results, you can dismiss this second window, return to the first one, and make a new drawing. There aren't any other noteworthy options provided by Sofonesia Picture Cropper.

Evaluation and conclusion

It didn't put a strain on the computer's performance in our tests, running on a low amount of CPU and RAM. On the other hand, it showed an error dialog and crashed whenever we attempted to draw a new region without closing the preview window with the captured section.
Sofonesia Picture Cropper features the necessary and suffice elements for cropping photos and saving the crops as separate files. However, we cannot overlook the stability issues we've encountered in our evaluation.
