Solway's Internet TV and Radio Description
Solway's Internet TV and Radio is an application that enables you to listen to radio stations and view TV channels from all over the world.
The interface of the program is clean and simple. You can view a list of all available channels and sort them by type (radio or TV).
So, you can stop the stream, go to the next or previous station, adjust the volume and switch to full screen mode.
But you can also zoom in and out, as well as view statistics and properties (e.g. aspect ratio, video size, location).
Unfortunately, you cannot use a search function to locate channels, but you can access them (by genre or country) in the "Stations" menu and create a favorites list, as well as update stations.
Furthermore, you can record audio and save it in the MP3, WMA and OGG format, set the quality (low, high, excellent) and open the output directory, along with the recording and playback mixer.
Plus, you can add, edit or delete a station, disable the link to the recorder application and configure options when it comes to performance (e.g. choose the connection speed, set the video border color), plugins and network (e.g. allow the player to receive multicast streams).
The app requires a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, includes a help file and didn't display any errors during our tests. As we have expected, not all channels work. Also, the lack of a search function that we have mentioned earlier is a big downside.
But the biggest surprise was to find out that Solway's Internet TV and Radio creates zero-byte audio tracks when trying to record songs. In this case, we have no alternative than to dismiss Solway's Audio Recorder.
All in all, Solway's Internet TV and Radio is pretty stable and has most of the essential functions related to online radio and TV. We recommend it to all users.
