Startup Manager Description
Startup Manager is a software application that gives you the possibility to manage programs that automatically launch at every Windows startup. For instance, you can remove the ones which contribute to a slower system boot, although they are unnecessary. This way, you can speed up the loading sequence. Otherwise, you can add new tools to autorun.
Plain and simple interface
The setup operation is a fast and easy task that shouldn't give you any trouble, since the setup wizard contains only familiar steps. As far as the interface is concerned, the tool is clearly outdated, as the main app window has graphical elements and overall appearance which remind us of older Windows.
Easily manage autostart apps
The current autorun applications are listed at startup, and you can check out their status, window title, command, location, and comment. It's possible to edit these properties, add new programs to the list, remove any of them, as well as launch programs on the spot. This information can be printed or refreshed with one click.
Startup Manager also facilitates a quick method for connecting to a remote registry on another computer in the local network by entering the computer and user name, provided that you know these credentials. There are no other notable options available.
Evaluation and conclusion
Startup Manager didn't put a strain on the computer's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low quantity of CPU and memory to work properly. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't freeze or crash.
To sum it up, this application contains approachable tools for managing autostart programs, and it can be used by casual users as well as network administrators, due to the remote connection feature. However, it hasn't been updated for a long time.
