STimer-appLauncher'nProcWndListTweak Description
STimer-appLauncher'nProcWndListTweak is a lightweight piece of software that is designed from the ground up to help you launch applications based on custom time intervals.
Can be installed in a matter of seconds
Getting started with this somewhat simple timed application launcher can be dispensed without much effort on your behalf, thanks to its streamlined installer.
Once the installation is completed, you are invited both fire up the application and to open its readme file. Although the application is not what you would call novice-accessible, even if you are a beginner, you should be able to get a basic idea about its functions by reading the aforementioned readme file.
Straightforward workflow and outdated yet functional user interface
Upon starting the app, you are greeted by a non-impressive and fairly outdated user interface. The upper part of the main window is reserved for starting and stopping the timer, as well as for reading the timed results.
The middle section is probably the place where most of your focus should go, as it is the place where you can add commands and assign time intervals. With the help of the contextual menu, you can easily add a few commands from a handy built-in list.
Of course, you can manually add custom commands by simply double-clicking any empty entry from the middle section and by following the simple wizard, which prompts you to choose a couple of options using the 1 and 2 numbers, as well as to input the interval, for example: 2m 10s or 2d 3h 2m 4s.
We recommend that you run it in compatibility mode for Windows XP
Before we conclude, you should know that although this app, at least theoretically, works on all versions of Windows, we have discovered that on later iterations, like Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 the app becomes quite unstable and crashes a lot.
We have been able to achieve a simple workaround by running the application in compatibility mode for Windows XP.
Non-impressive app launcher
All in all, STimer-appLauncher'nProcWndListTweak is a simple timed application launcher that works quite well and may be a valid alternative to similar CLI-based tools, if you have a bit of patience to read through its small instructions manual.
