Translating subtitles, and especially synchronizing subtitles with the proper video content can be one of the most tedious and time-consuming experiences, especially if you don't employ various tools to help you improve your workflow.
Subordination is an Electron-based piece of software that is mostly focused on helping you translate subtitles, but it can also help you synchronize them with your videos by allowing you to shift their timing rates.

Modern and user-friendly subtitle translation tool

Before anything else, you should know that, unfortunately, this utility only works with SRT subtitles (at least for now). Subsequent to its typical installation, you are prompted to download and install the Webchimera video module, a task which can be accomplished without having to leave Subordination's main window.
Loading both your subtitles and their designated videos can be dealt with by using intuitive drag and drop gestures. The interface is modern-looking, and its layout is appropriately designed. All your loaded subtitles are displayed on the left-sided panel (allowing you to work on multiple projects at once), their entries in the middle, while the right side of the UI is reserved for the video module.

Translate, edit and upload subtitles with the least amount of effort

Considering its overall ease-of-use, you can quickly start translating and synchronizing subtitles. To get started, simply right-click any entry from the middle panel and select "Edit" from the contextual menu. Please note that you can also edit various project properties by clicking their designated sprocket shaped buttons.
Last but not least, you should also be aware of the fact that Subordination makes it possible for you to upload your translations directly to one of the most popular subtitle websites, namely Opensubtitles.org. To do this, you will need to provide the app with your official Opensubtitles credentials, load a supported video file and retrieve a correct IMDb identifier.

Practical and very efficient solution for translating SRT subtitles

All in all, since it only comes with support for SRT format and since it is mainly focused on subtitle translation, Subordination is not exactly the most comprehensive app of its class. However, thanks to its user-friendly UI, simple set of features and all the packed tools, Subordination is an efficient app that can really help you simplify the process of translating subtitles.
