SUM Editor (formerly SU Movie Editor) Description
SUM Editor is a comprehensive video processing application that features options for merging and splitting clips, as well as for applying video and audio filters or resorting to decoders.
The program offers support for many popular file types, including AVI, WMV, MPEG, MPG, TS, TP, M2T, 3G2, 3GP, MP4 and MOV files. It can also be used for reconstructing AVI, WMV or VOB files.
Load audio and video files, apply filters, and reconstruct media items
It's wrapped in a professional-looking interface made from a large window and clear-cut structure, where you can use a file browser to navigate disk directories and locate audio and video files for processing.
Clips can be added to a timeline and previewed in an embedded media player. It's possible to install audio and video filters, apply the preferred ones and select a rendering device, delete, copy or move files to other locations, as well as to reconstruct media files.
Make audio and video adjustments
As far as tweaking options are concerned, SUM Editor lets you adjust the volume, brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels, restore them to default if necessary, pick the desired aspect ratio, as well as increase or decrease the speed.
Furthermore, you can enter fullscreen mode, add new clips to link them, examine filter information, zoom in and out of the video, as well as switch to a different language for the interface.
Evaluation and conclusion
Surprisingly, the software application had minimal impact on the overall performance of the machine during our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed low CPU and RAM to work properly. It carried out tasks fast and didn't freeze, crash or prompt error notifications.
All in all, SUM Editor comes loaded with some pretty advanced options for editing media files, and it mainly caters to experienced users.
