SunClock Description

SunClock is a lightweight Windows application built specifically for helping you place a map on your screen which reveals the position of the sun and moon, as well as the moon phase.
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to enhance your desktop functionality on the fly, without having to go through installation steps.
SunClock sports a clean and simplistic layout that offers only a few configuration settings to tinker with.
The program lets you move the map to any area of the screen, adjust the size of the map, alter the night display (from lighter to darker values), show the sun and moon, and place the sun in the center.
Other notable characteristics worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to change the default map provided by the tool by uploading an image from the computer, provided that the file format is BMP, show the current settings as the default ones, run the program at Windows startup, as well as make the map remain on top of other applications.
Since it doesn’t require much computer knowledge to set up the dedicated parameters, even rookies can master the entire process with minimum effort.
During our testing we have noticed that SunClock carries out a task quickly, and provides good image quality. As it would be expected from such a small utility, it remains light on system resources, so it doesn’t burden the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.
To sum things up, SunClock seems to be the right choice in case you are looking for a simple-to-use application that helps you place a custom map on your desktop.
