SurfTabs Description
The main gateway to the information superhighway is still the web browser. While some managed to build quite a reputation over the years, resource consumption seems to be a common issue, and an abundance of features you might not even use. For a clean browsing experience, SurfTabs comes with a simple design, and tab support.
Easy tab management
Showing up in a minimalistic interface, the application poses no accommodation problems whatsoever if you ever used a web browser. It’s based on the Internet Explorer engine, but this doesn’t prevent it from showing content without compatibility issues, although there’s a slight chance not all pages properly load.
As the name suggests, one of the core features is tab support, providing the flexibility you need to navigate on multiple pages at a time. These are easily created and closed, either through hotkey commands or dedicated menu controls. Needless to say that landing on a page is done by writing down the address in the URL input field.
Favorites manager, and extra options
All navigation is kept track of, with the possibility to view closed pages in the history manager. Moreover, you can save frequently visited pages as favorites, while all default favorite items from Internet Explorer are automatically imported. However, these are handled from a side panel, with no option to switch to a toolbar mode.
Accessing the options panel provides some degree of control over general behavior. History can be cleared at the press of a button, with the possibility to store only for a maximum amount of days. Tabs can be automatically refreshed at custom time periods, while opening a new one can either show a blank page, history items, favorites, current location, or home page.
A few last words
Taking everything into consideration, SurfTabs is a lightweight, practical web browser you can use on low-end computers, or you don’t really need a complex set of features. It puts most basic navigation requirements at your disposal, such as multiple tabs, favorites manager, and decent speed to be worth your while.
