Symbian SMS Manager Description
Symbian SMS Manager is a small software application designed specifically for helping you manage SMS directly from your screen.
User interface
The program reveals an Explorer-like layout that provides quick access to the messages stored on your mobile. You can view details about the connected mobile device, such as alias, model, IMEI, SW revision, phone date and time, network, as well as logical drives.
Read different messages
Symbian SMS Manager gives you the possibility to check all types of messages, such as SMS, Smart SMS, MMS, Beamed (received via BT or IrDA), and BIO (Picture message, Operator Logo, Ringing tone, WAP access point). It reads and displays file attachments for MMS and Beamed messages.
What’s more, the application lets you work with custom message folders, delete messages from your phone and move them between folders, as well as create and send both plain and Unicode SMS to individual recipients or contact groups. Messages can also be saved to a file on your computer.
Configuration settings
Symbian SMS Manager lets you connect via IrDA, USB, Bluetooth or Microsoft ActiveSync, automatically sync phone’s time with the PC upon connection, automatically check for updates when the program starts, warn for unsaved changes when you exit the app, as well as set up color notifications for unknown phone, phone model, and unconnected phone.
Several message settings can be tweaked in order to confirm message deletion, set focus on new incoming message, and mark messages as read after a custom number of seconds.
Bottom line
All things considered, Symbian SMS Manager comes with a handy suite of features for helping you check out and send messages right from your screen. It runs on all Windows platform out there but it hasn’t been updated for a while so it may cause compatibility issues especially on newer operating systems.
