System Monitor

System Monitor is a desktop gadget that includes network and system monitoring tools, developed for advanced computer users. It is easy to install.
The interface is based on a small frame that you can move anywhere on the screen. It displays the system time, CPU and RAM usage by default.
Extra plugins that you can add include a viewer for the internal and external IP address, battery monitor with a percentage bar or text format, as well as wireless network monitor (same format settings).
Other functions of System Monitor include Whois, IP and DNS lookup, Trace Route, and Ping. A search function is available. Locking and unlocking all monitors is done with the simple click of a button.
Thanks to the built-in Windows options, you can also make the frame stay on top of other windows, as well as change its opacity level. This way, System Monitor becomes non-instrusive and you can quickly get a glance of it while working in other applications.
As far as settings are concerned, you can select the search results display mode (flyout or browser), default search tool, and refresh rate for monitors. Options can be restored to their factory values seamlessly.
As expected, System Monitor runs on a very low amount of CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the overall performance of the computer. It has a good refresh rate and displays accurate information. No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the app did not hang or crash.
All in all, System Monitor delivers a simple solution to viewing system resources consumption, backed up by a useful set of network tools.
