Table Reader Description

Table Reader is a small software application developed specifically for helping you read n-dimensional tables from various types of files and convert them to CSV, SAV, or OTIS file format. It able to process data from multi-dimensional functional tables, performs lookups in a table, and offers support for plotting capabilities.
You can install it on all Windows flavors out there, provided that you have the Java working deployed on the target computer.

Portable tool

This is a portable program. You can store it on USB flash drives or other portable devices to have it with you all the time. In addition, you may run it without administrative privileges.
Gaining access to its features requires only opening the executable file because there’s no setup included in the process. It does not write entries to your Windows registry and leave other configuration files on the target PC. It actually saves the settings data on the storage device. Getting rid of it implies a simple deletion task of the files that you have downloaded from the Internet.

Minimalist design

Table Reader sports a simple and clean layout that embeds only a few configuration settings. A help manual is not included in the package, but you can consult a ‘Readme’ file for more details about the application’s capabilities.

How it works

The utility offers you the possibility to read and write four ASCII table file formats, namely FDA, CSV, NASA 2, 3, or 4 argument, and two different FlightLab SAV file formats. Plus, it reads (but it cannot write) C81 airfoil aerodynamics tables.
Files can be imported in the working environment using the built-in browse button or drag-and-drop support. You are allowed to build up a list with table files so you can easily manage them and remove items from the list.
You can plot table data and preview it in a dedicated panel, show or hide cubic spline, print the graph, export the graph image to PNG or SVG file format, copy the graph photo to the clipboard, and undo or redo your actions.
Other important options worth being mentioned enable you to carry out lookups in the current table data, view the contents of a table in a dedicated panel, as well as convert tables to CSV, SAV, or OTIS format.
Tests have demonstrated that Table Reader accomplishes tasks quickly. It eats up from a low up to a moderate amount of CPU and memory resources.

Final thoughts

All in all, Table Reader makes it easier for you to process n-dimensional tables, perform conversions, and plot data, and is suitable especially professional users.
