TakeScreen Recorder Lite

TakeScreen Recorder Lite is a software solution that allows you to capture various parts of your screen to a video format. The app is especially designed to record your desktop activities and it does not capture snapshots.
The user interface is simple and plain, and beginners should get acquainted to its features very quickly. You can effortlessly save the entire screen or only parts of it to a video file with just a few clicks.
The main window is minimalist and packs only a few options that help you capture your screen activity.
It sports a “Source” panel where you can specify the screen area (full screen or custom mode) and the dimensions. You can enter the size for a selected area manually by typing the data into the dedicated dialogs or by dragging the mouse cursor over the parts of the screen that you need to capture.
Furthermore, from the “Video Settings” menu, professional users can select codecs and the frame rate. There are three types of codecs included in this app: Cinepack Codec by Radius, DV Video Encoder, and MJPEG Compressor, which can be configured in terms of video format, resolution and compression control. It also offers access to codec configuration options.
You are also allowed to choose an output folder to store your new videos. Whether you want to capture the entire screen or only parts of it in a video format, you simply need to press the “Start” button to begin a new video recording.
It doesn't provide very good video quality as it renders blurry images and you cannot see an accurate display of the information.
TakeScreen Recorder Lite hasn't been updated for a while, so this old build may cause compatibility issues with newer operating system, such as Windows 8.
