TalkClock Description
TalkClock is a small software application developed specifically for helping you automatically announce the time at specified time intervals with the aid of Windows voices. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.
Simple looks
It takes nothing more than a fast and basic installation process in order to gain access to the tool’s GUI. The dedicated parameters look easy to decode so you are not going to spend a lot of time tweaking them. Actually, all configuration settings are gathered into a single window.
A help manual is not comprised in the package. However, you can quickly get an idea about how to make the most out of the program’s features on your own.
Configuration settings
TalkClock offers you the possibility to listen to the current time with the click of a button. In addition, you can make the application automatically announce the time at certain time intervals, namely 1, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
Other important configuration settings worth being mentioned enable you to choose between a male and female voice, set the preferred time format (12 or 24 hour format), as well as save the current configuration settings with ease.
Tests have pointed out that TalkClock carries out a task quickly. It is not a resource hog so you do not have to worry that it affects the overall performance of the computer. You may keep it running in the background. On the downside, the application has not been updated for a long time so you may bump into all sorts of errors and compatibility issues on newer operating systems, like Windows 10 and 8.
Final remarks
All in all, if you are on the hunt for nothing more than a simple software solution that is able to read aloud the time, you may give TalkClock a try and see what it can do for you. It is suitable especially for less experienced users.
