TargetMill is a lightweight piece of software that enables you to seamlessly create paper checkerboard targets ready for printing or scanning that feature unique identification targets based on any letter or number sequence automatically.

The setup is quick, straightforward and does not require any special attention from your part. The application features a double panel interface, one that enables you to specify the parameters for the laser scan or print and the preview pane, where you can zoom in and closely inspect whether everything is according to your specifications.
You should know that the utility enables you to minutely manage various relevant details prior to the printing or scanning task. Consequentially, you can select from a plethora of paper sizes, specify the target shape, add a logo, include static or serialized text and define the target series. Then again, the panels area is rather small and it can give the impression of crowded.

Allows you to create barcodes, QR and Ring codes

The utility enables you to choose between several serialized targets, namely Barcode, QR code, ring code, circular and rectangular. Depending on the target, you have additional options at your disposal.
For instance, if you intend to print out barcodes, then you can select the 3 of 9 standard or the 2 of 5 interleaved as the encoding method. In case you are creating QR codes, then you can define the error correction level, whereas ring code entail specifying the number of rings, value encoding and the total number of binary digits.
Once you are done tweaking the layout and serialized targets, you can print them directly or save the project as PDF. Although it is the only file format option, it is appropriate as it can save the data without modifying your parameter values.
