Taskbar Texturizer Description
Taskbar Texturizer is a small-sized and portable application that gives users the possibility of customizing their taskbar. It is backed up by intuitive options which make the tool suitable even for people with no experience in computer software.
Since installation is not a requirement, you can drop the program files to a custom directory on the hard drive, as well as on a pen drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any machine directly. Note that the device must not be write-protected, since the program automatically creates files in the same location.
What's more important is that Taskbar Texturizer does not add new entries to the Windows registry or Start menu (as it usually happens with installers), leaving the disk clean after removal.
The interface is based on a small window with a sleek look, and provides quick access to all options. You can use the file browser to select a base and effect texture, which can be one of the seven templates included in the package, or custom files from the hard drive, as long as they have the PNG format.
Keep in mind that custom images must have the same resolution as the templates (640x400 pixels) if you want to preserve the original ratio in the taskbar.
Other options of Taskbar Texturizer can make the taskbar transparent and apply a fade effect to the Start menu. The app can be set to automatically run at system startup. It has to remain active to keep the new settings, so you can minimize the frame to the system tray. The tool does not provide an option for restoring settings to default, but this is automatically done when exiting it.
We have noticed a minimal CPU and RAM consumption during the app's runtime. It quickly applies the new settings to the taskbar and doesn't cause Windows to hang, crash or show error messages. All in all, Taskbar Texturizer offers a simple solution when it comes to customizing the taskbar.
