Text Encryption and Decryption

Text Encryption and Decryption is a Java-based application that enables you to seamlessly encrypt and decrypt messages using a key. This way, you can send secret messages to your friends over the Internet, as long they have the correct password necessary for decryption. It doesn't include complicated options, making it accessible to all types of users.

No setup required, besides Java

The program's not wrapped in a setup kit. Instead, you can copy the downloaded files to a preferred directory on the disk or to a pen drive, in order to directly run it on any PC, provided that you have Java installed. It doesn't modify the system registry configuration or create files on the disk without asking for permission.

Plain and simple interface

As far as the interface is concerned, the utility opts for a standard window with a plain and simple structure, where you can specify a password and type or paste text from the Clipboard, in order to encrypt it with the click of a button.

Easily encrypt and decrypt text

The text can be encrypted for as many times as you want with different passwords. Just make sure you don't lose them, since they are indispensable for message decryption.
It's possible to show the password hidden under asterisk characters, instruct the application to reduce they key length, copy all information to the Clipboard with one click, as well as to clear text just as easily.

Evaluation and conclusion

It worked smoothly in our evaluation, without triggering the operating system to hang, crash or indicate errors. Encryption and decryption jobs were carried out swiftly while CPU and RAM usage remained minimal.
Although it doesn't come packed with a particularly rich set of options and configuration properties, Text Encryption and Decryption offers a simple solution for transferring private information over unprotected networks.
