Text Ticker is a lightweight Windows application built specifically for helping users scroll the contents of a text file at the top or bottom part of the screen.
The program places a small bar on your screen which reveals the scrolling text. Plus, you can import data from a text file using the built-in browse function or simply dragging and dropping the file on the small panel.
What’s more, you are allowed to pause the scrolling process, display data from a valid URL, scroll the entire document, or only the first or last lines, as well as specify the time delay and distance for the scrolling display.
Text Ticker enables you to reload the current file at a user-defined time, show a logo (JPEG, BMP, ICO, EMF, WMF), play sound notifications when the document is changed (WAV), and scroll the text vertically or horizontally.
Other notable characteristics worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to save the current settings for all users, run the utility at Windows startup, and make the app remain on top of other programs.
Last but not least, you are allowed to run multiple instances of the program, customize the text in terms of font, font style, size, and color, and pick the background color.
During our testing we have noticed that Text Ticker carries out a task quickly, provides good output results, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. As it would be expected from such a small utility, it remains light on system resources, so it doesn’t hamper the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.
