TextTrimmer Description
Working with text doesn’t simply mean writing paragraphs, and there are an abundance of operations involved, but this only depends on the task at hand. If you need to handle multiple rows or columns inside a plain text file, this can be a real pain, unless you use specialized applications like TextTrimmer to clean text according to different rules.
Simple visuals quickly get you up and running
Note that the application is good to go from the moment download is done, requiring no installation in order to function. This means you can also carry it on a thumb drive to use on other computers, and registry entries are not modified during use, so you don’t have to worry about affecting the stability of the target PC.
On the visual side of things, the application wraps all of its features in a classic window frame, just to keep accommodation simple for individuals of all levels of experience. Most of the space is the edit area where imported text shows up, while the upper toolbar is fitted with all kinds of sorting options and rules to enhance text.
Trim by clocks or custom rules
The only supported file type you can work with is TXT, and you need to rely on the browse dialog to open one, because dropping it over the main window has no effect. The status bar displays valuable information, such as initial and new rows, mouse position, as well as the status of the operation.
You can’t edit the loaded text, which is somewhat useful to prevent any accidents. As such, you must rely on trim tools, which are either triggered for blocks, or according to different rules you get to configured.
Block trimming is done for text, text and positions, moving over, or removing marks you manually specify. On the other hand, rules take more of an automated approach. These let you trim blanks, split lines, trim duplicate contiguous lines, and more.
To sum it up
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that TextTrimmer is a practical application to handle lists constructed in the plain text format. Although it can feel a little ambiguous at first, rules are easy to identify and configure.
