TFM Audio Tool Description
TFM Audio Tool is a lightweight Windows application whose purpose is to help users convert audio files to various formats, such as AC3, DTS, WAV, AIFF, MP4, AAC, and MP3, extract audio streams, and upmix a stereo file to AC3 5.
During the installation process, you can select which codecs you want to install on your system (ffdshow, AC3Filter).
It sports a straightforward interface that offers several configuration settings to tinker with.
TFM Audio Tool works with the following file formats: AC3, WAV, MP3, OGG, APE, FLAC, AIF, and others. What’s more, you are allowed to extract the audio streams from video files (e.g. AVI, MKV, MP4, MOV, MPG).
Files can be uploaded into the working environment using “drag and drop†operations or the built-in browse function. The program offers support for batch processing, which means you can add multiple items and process them at the same time.
When it comes to configuration settings, you are allowed to specify the bitrate and sample rate, adjust the volume, set up the dedicated parameters related to the front left and right speakers, apply auto-grain filters, as well as enable the framerate conversion mode.
Other notable characteristics worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to select the saving directory and output format, change the layout of the application by choosing from various themes, and check the log section for additional information about the conversion process and possible errors.
During our testing we have noticed that TFM Audio Tool carries out the conversion process quickly, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
All in all, TFM Audio Tool offers a handy set of parameters for helping you convert audio files. It is suitable especially for professional users, as it bundles advanced features, such as stereo upmixing options.
