Thumbcache Viewer

Thumbcache Viewer is a small-sized and portable application that allows you to analyze Thumbcache and Iconcache database files (DB format), in order to extract images and save them to the hard drive. It can be used by anyone, regardless of their level of experience.
Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can drop the executable file to a custom location on the hard disk and just click it to run.
It is also possible to save Thumbcache Viewer to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any machine with minimum effort and without previous installers.
An important aspect to take into account is that the Windows registry does not get updated with new entries, and no additional files are created on the disk without the user's consent.
The interface is represented by a regular window with a plain and simple structure, where you can open files using either the file browser or drag-and-drop support.
The list shows the name, size, data and header checksum, along with the entry hash and location for each item. Before saving images to file using the context menu, you can preview them within the main frame. It is possible to save multiple selected files at the same time.
The program runs on a very low amount of CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the overall performance of the PC. It is very responsive to commands and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or show error messages. We have not come across any problems in our tests. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, Thumbcache Viewer can be handled even by less experienced users.
