TicClick Description

Window management can become a little tricky, and frustrating at times, especially when you need to work with multiple instances on your desktop. The Windows snap feature can help in this regard, but for even faster distribution of windows across the desktop, you might want to try out TicClick.

Stays in the tray area

A good things about it is that it skips you the whole time, and effort needed to go through a setup process, and allows you to take advantage of its features on other computers directly from a thumb drive. Another consequence of portability is that system registry entries remain intact, thus not having an impact on system stability.
The application directly hides to the tray area on launch, with no tooltip to let you know it’s there. In any case, the corresponding tray menu is of little to no help whatsoever, except for the option to bring up the readme file in order to check out the set of instructions. There are no general, or behavior options to configure, or any preset window positions to quickly trigger from the tray menu.

Intuitive hotkey trigger, and set of controls

On the other hand, there is a small menu which appears when pressing a specific combination of keys, namely Win + left mouse button. This is fitted with a numpad-like structure, with nine different position layouts to send active windows to. These can be sent to any side, or middle part of the screen, even in the center area.
Additionally, the active window can be brought to the cursor spot, and there’s even an undo operation in case you can’t interact with the window in the new position. Unfortunately, windows don’t get resized at all when repositioned, and the hotkey can’t be changed.

A few last words

Bottom line is that a large monitor doesn’t solve handling multiple windows on your desktop. Truth be told, neither does TicClick, but it can make management a little easier, by quickly moving active windows to nine different desktop places, even at the current cursor coordinates.
