Tif Player Description

Images are found under an abundance of formats that aim to better compress size but still provide high-quality pictures. Others are specialized in design and can only be opened by certain applications. This is what Tif Player tries to do and as the name suggests, you'll be able to open all of your TIF files with it.

Can be used on the go

No installation is required so as soon as your browser tells you download is finished you can go ahead and run it to see what it's all about. This enables you to keep it on a removable storage device and easily open TIF files from any computer. Moreover, your system remains clean and registries unaffected.

Poor set of features

However, a closer look reveals that the application is not really something new on the block. Not because it's design is simple and straightforward, with not a lot of features to go through, but modern image viewers are now capable of opening more than just TIF files.
Going through what it can actually do, you quickly stumble upon the lack of support for drag and drop, leaving the dedicated file explorer the only way to load your files. This cuts some degree of practicality, because it can't be used to scroll through multiple images, both because it doesn't detect folder content to navigate through it, as well as no options to load more images.

Several animation controls

There's an “Animate” toolbar entry at your disposal that holds several controls. Besides options to play, pause and stop an animation, you can set start delay by specifying time in milliseconds, as well as the size of the image, but this can also be done by adjusting the window borders.

In conclusion

All things considered, we can state that Tif Player is not really a suitable choice when it comes to viewing images, even if your choices narrow down to TIF files. Although portability offers it some degree of practicality, the shallow set of features and no support for other images keep it far from being a pro.
