It has a built-in calendar and runs in the systray to facilitate quick access to its settings while enabling you to proceed with your typical desktop activity without interruptions. No complex options are offered by the tool, so it can be tackled even by casual PC users with no previous experience in countdown timers.

Simple installation and systray integration

Setting it up is a speedy and easy task, since there are no prerequisite software products or third-party components offered for installation.
Once launched, Timer gets integrated into the taskbar notifications area and shows its control panel. You can navigate the calendar to any date in the future and specify time in 12-clock format, as well as click a button to start the countdown timer. It's displayed in days, hours, minutes and seconds.
Aside from the fact that you can switch to another interface language, there are no other noteworthy options integrated by this piece of software. For instance, it doesn't notify you through visual or audio means when time's up.

Evaluation and conclusion

Unfortunately, it popped up an error and quit in our tests on the latest edition of Windows every time we attempted to start the timer, probably because it hasn't been updated for a long time. However, it worked smoothly on older OS versions. CPU and RAM usage was minimal in our tests, so it didn't hamper the computer's performance.
All in all, Timer doesn't come packed with a resourceful set of options and customization properties, but it delivers a straightforward solution for counting down time to important, upcoming events. It's geared toward all types of users, even the ones inexperienced with such software.
