Timer Description

Although merely a concept available here on this planet, time is a pretty important resource which helps define not only our daily interactions, but also scientific research. Management doesn’t necessarily have to involve complex operations, and a timer might be enough, case in which Timer can meet your demands.

Can be used on the go

It comes in a package which doesn’t require installation to function. This means you can easily store it on a thumb drive in case you need to use in both on your home and work computers. Don’t worry about the health status of the target PC, because registry entries are kept intact during runtime.
Upon launch, an initial prompt shows up to ask the target countdown time, which is specified in minutes. Note that you can write a value between 1 and 99 minutes, which means you’re pretty limited, depending on the activity you want to time. As soon as you confirm input the main window shows up displaying a real time updating countdown timer.

Leaves much to be desired

However, the application is a little rough around the edges, in both terms of visuals and practicality. Aesthetics are only a minor inconvenience, but as soon as the timer reaches zero, the application automatically closes, so if you’re not there in the last few seconds, you don’t really benefit from any accuracy.
On the other hand, quick tasks can easily be performed. Multiple instances of the application can be launched at the same time for timing more tasks in a single session. For quick access, you can assign a hotkey command to the shortcut to launch it regardless of your location.

A few last words

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Timer is a straightforward timer utility, but not really in the flexible, practical sense. Sure enough you can use it on the go, and setting up the time is easy, but without a warning, or at least a window to remain on screen when the timer reaches zero, there’s little to no practicality to be pulled from runtime.
