TorkilsTaskSwitcher Description
TorkilsTaskSwitcher is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you switch between multiple programs with the aid of custom hotkeys. The tool delivers an alternative to the Windows ‘Alt + Tab’ task switcher.
Portable running mode
This is a portable program. You can keep it stored on USB flash drives or other portable devices and carry it with you all the time. Gaining access to the utility’s features requires only opening the executable file because there’s no installation included in the process.
Easy-to-decode GUI
The user interface is intuitive so you are not going to spend a lot of time tweaking the dedicated parameters. The app is unobtrusive and can be found running in the system tray. An online help manual is available in case you cannot manage to configure the settings on your own.
Set up custom hotkeys
TorkilsTaskSwitcher reveals a list with available shortcuts that can be used for switching between utilities, such as IE, Firefox, Chrome, Outlook, Thunderbird, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat Reader. For example, you can press ‘Win + Tab + O’ in order to switch to Outlook.
What’s more, the program is able to identify all running processes and gives you the possibility to access a target process by double-clicking on it. Windows can be closed by pressing the ‘Delete’ button.
Hotkeys can be reassigned via a configuration file which can be opened using Notepad. This approach is suitable for professional users but rookies may find it difficult to set up regular expressions, commands, and environment variables.
Final thoughts
In conclusion, TorkilsTaskSwitcher provides a straightforward approach for helping you switch to other applications via hotkeys.
