TreeMaker Description
TreeMaker is a lightweight Windows application built specifically for helping you create origami designs using crease patterns.
It sports a clean working environment that helps you generate an origami by drawing a stick figure on a square. Plus, you are allowed to assign a length for each of the stick included in the drawing.
TreeMaker offers support for “drag and drop†operations for easily moving lines from one location to another, and you can undo or redo your actions, and perform basic editing operations (cut, copy, paste, clear).
What’s more, you are allowed to split edges, scale the entire drawing, build the crease pattern, and make adjustments to the stick figure and/or crease pattern by configuring the dedicated parameters related to nodes and edges.
The program lets you use hotkeys for a better control over the entire process, save the current origami as a template or print it, as well as use the built-in Inspector for viewing and editing nodes in terms of index, x and y coordinates, and label.
Last but not least, you can make the utility show or hide different components related to nodes, edges, paths, polygons, vertices, creases, and facets, and switch to a full screen mode.
During our testing we have noticed that TreeMaker carries out a task very quickly, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. It is quite friendly with system resources, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.
All things considered, TreeMaker offers a handy set of features for helping you create complex origami designs but the interface is not quite intuitive, so rookies may spend some time trying to configure the settings.
