UDP/IP Network Tester

UDP/IP Network Tester is a tiny and portable software utility that gives you the possibility to benchmark your network connection by generating bidirectonal UDP streams. It comes packed with a several useful settings.

Portability advantages

As there is no installation involved, you can save the executable file to any part of the hard disk and just click it to run. Another possibility is to save UDP/IP Network Tester to a USB flash drive or other removable storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.
An important factor worth taking into consideration is that, unlike most installers, UDP/IP Network Tester does not modify Windows registry settings or create extra files on the disk without your permission, thus leaving it clean after removal.

Simple interface and options

The GUI is plain and simple to navigate, and it provides direct access to all available options. It is possible to enable the UDP/IP sender and receiver, specify the source and destination port number, as well as to establish the receiver and destination IP address.
What's more, you can set the sender buffer size and period of time, number of packets to send per period, along with the packet size. Statistics are shown in a graph on the bottom part of the screen and can be easily reset with one click. There are no other notable options provided by this software program.

Evaluation and conclusion

There were no stability issues in our tests, since UDP/IP Network Tester did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. It has a good response time and minimal impact on CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the machine's performance overall. On the other hand, it features limited settings and has not been updated for a while.
