UMLet is an open-source Windows application built specifically for helping users draw UML diagrams in the easiest way possible.
It sports a clean and straightforward interface that gives users the possibility to perform most operations with just a few clicks.
Basically, it proves to be extremely easy to work with this tool, as it comes packed with several preset UML elements and allow users to insert them by simply dragging and dropping them into the working area.
What’s more, the UML elements can be moved to any area of the environment with the use of the mouse.
Other important features worth mentioning enable users to perform searches, zoom in or out, and preview the diagram in a dedicated window.
When it comes to exporting options, you can save the generated diagrams to BMP, EPS, GIF, JPG, PDF, PNG, or SVG. Plus, the application allows user to print the diagrams as well.
Additionally, you can send emails with the diagrams directly from the primary panel, provided that you have configured the dedicated parameters (subject, email address of the receiver and sender, message).
During our testing we have noticed that ArgusLab carries out a task very quickly and without errors throughout the entire process.
As it would be expected from such a small utility, it manages to remain light on the system resources, so it doesn’t burden the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.
All things considered, UMLet combines ease of use with functionality for helping users design diagrams on the fly. It can be mastered by beginners and experts alike.
