Shortened links are easier to distribute to people over instant messengers or social network platforms, especially Twitter.

Portable URL shortener with a simple interface

This is a portable software product, so you don't have to install it. It's packed in a single executable file that can be copied anywhere on the hard disk or a USB flash drive to launch URL Shorter on any PC without any setup. It doesn't create new entries in the system registry or generate additional files on the computer.
When it comes to the interface, URL Shorter opts for a single window that shows all settings put at your disposal. It doesn't have graphical elements that stand out, though.

Shorten one or multiple URLs at once

There are two separate areas available: for entering a single link or multiple ones. URLs can be typed or pasted from the clipboard. In the case of multiple links, make sure to enter one URL per line.
After clicking the "Get Link" button, URL Shorter instantly generates the Adf.ly links and displays them below the long ones. There are no buttons visible for copying all data to the Clipboard or saving it to file.
However, you can select all links using your mouse cursor (or press Ctrl+A) and send them to the Clipboard from the right-click menu (or press Ctrl+V).

All things considered, URL Shorter delivers a simple and straightforward solution for making web links shorter with the help of the Adf.ly service. It's free and easy to use by anyone. Although no recent updates were made, we didn't experience any compatibility issues with the latest Windows versions.
