video4fuze Description

As the name explains, video4fuze is a software application which prepares your video files for the Sansa Fuze portable media player (AVI). It supports multiple formats for the input, such as AVI, MOV, MP4, ASF, WMV and SWF.
The interface of the tool is based on a plain window with a simple-to-follow layout. Importing video clips into the file list is easily done through the file browser, since the 'drag and drop' function is not supported. Plus, it is possible to process more than one video simultaneously.
The file queue shows the source and default target folder for each video. Once you specify the output destination, you can proceed with the encoding operation.
In addition, video4fuze is able to prepare images for Sansa Fuze (JPG), as well as create playlists (PLA) from audio tracks (OGG, MP3, WMA, FLAC). From the 'Preferences' screen, you can enable two passes for the conversion task and specify the output image size. Settings can be reloaded to their default values.
The video processing program requires a moderate amount of CPU and system memory, in order to complete a job in reasonable time. The output items have a good image and sound quality. No error dialogs have been displayed during our evaluation, and video4fuze did not hang or crash.
On the downside, you cannot establish the threads number, preview clips in a built-in media player, or modify audio and video settings, like the frame rate, aspect ratio, channel mode or sample rate. But we must take into account the fact that video4fuze has not received any recent updates.
