Audio discs have been widely employed, as they allow users to take their music with them, wherever they go. However, this raises the need for multimedia converters that can encode files from audio discs to more common formats. Vip CD Ripper allows users to do just that, as it can transfer CDA files to WAV and MP3 formats.

Change metadata information

The application allows users to convert entire discs quickly, complete with the songs' metadata. What's more, users can change these fields, either manually, by inserting author and genre information, but also by querying dedicated databases, such as CDDB or freedb. All these tasks are performed from within the program, removing the need for a third-party tool.
Once a valid disc is inserted, the program automatically scans it and returns all the tracks found, complete with other useful information, such as the length, size or song number. Depending on the format of the source documents, one can issue CDA to WAV or MP3 conversion commands, as well as WAV to MP3 tasks (and vice-versa).

Employ hotkeys to issue encoding commands

This is performed either with the side-panel buttons, or with the default hotkeys (F8, F9, F11 and F12, respectively). A few other auxiliary tools can be employed, such as an audio file compare utility and a track rename module. A built-in player allows users to check the source files, before making any conversions.
Several options are predefined for this particular task, such as the “Swap Artist – Track” function; one can even change the case used with just a few mouse clicks.

All things considered, Vip CD Ripper leaves little in the way of innovation, but does its job well and can be valuable for anyone with numerous audio CDs.
