VLA Exposure Calculator Description

VLA Exposure Calculator is an application helps you to find values required for VLA. Features include bandwidth, array configuration, type of weighting, RMS brightness temperature, and elevation average weather. The bandwidth entered is per polarization. One can check this by selecting single or dual polarization and watching the noise calculated go down when dual polarization is selected over single polarization. The array configuration does not affect the rms noise, but does affect what confusion level can be reached, as well as the brightness temperature sensitivity for a given rms noise. The calculation of the rms brightness temperature depends explictily upon the size of the synthesized beam.
