VLC-Record

VLC-Record is a Windows application designed to help users play and record video streams from the Russian television website, kartina.tv.
In order to start the downloading process, you need to provide details about your Kartina TV account (username and password). It sports a clean and straightforward interface that allows users to perform most operations with minimum effort.
VLC-Record gives you the possibility to select between various channels, define up to ten favourite channels, view an electronic program guide (it reveals data about the selected date and channel), sort videos by genre, and perform search operations.
Other important options worth mentioning enable you to access any program on the selected channel for the last two weeks, schedule recording sessions by specifying the start and end time, name, and channel, and switch to a full screen mode.
The program comes packed with several configuration settings that allow users to select the saving directory for the recorded files, specify the bitrate and buffer, assign shortcuts for various operations (e.g. play, pause, or stop the current selection, record), as well as activate the parental control mode by setting up passwords.
During our testing we have noticed that VLC-Record offers very good video quality and no errors showed up throughout the entire process.
