Wallpapers Description
Wallpapers is a small software application developed specifically for helping you randomly change your wallpaper at Windows startup. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.
Portable running mode
You can keep Wallpapers stored on pen drives or other portable devices so you can have it with you all the time. In addition, you may open with it without administrative privileges.
You do not have to go through an installation process in order to gain access to the GUI because a double-click on the executable file is sufficient for accomplishing the task. Plus, you can run it directly from the storage device.
It does not populate your Windows registry with extra entries and leave other configuration files so you may get rid of it using a quick deletion task.
Simplistic layout
Wallpapers reveals a minimalist design that includes only a few configuration settings. A help manual is not available, only a plain text file that includes a short description about the program’s capabilities.
How it works
The application comes with support for two utilities for helping you accomplish the task. They are delivered via executable files which are both portable. They are called ‘Wallpap1’ and ‘Wallpap2.’
The first one gives you the possibility to set the folder where BMP images are stored. From this specific directory, Wallpapers configures your wallpaper. Plus, you are allowed to change the wallpaper until you are happy with the final results.
The second tool included in the package does not reveal a graphical user interface, only a small popup panel. It immediately closes after a new wallpaper is selected. In addition, you can add a shortcut to your Windows startup folder in order to change your wallpaper at every boot.
Tests have pointed out that Wallpapers carries out a task quickly and without errors. It remains light on system resources so the overall performance of the system is not affected.
Final remarks
All in all, Wallpapers delivers a simplistic software solution for helping you change the looks of your desktop by setting up new wallpapers. On the downside, you are not allowed to alter the wallpaper at a user-defined time interval automatically, preview the images in the main window, and work with a wide range of photo formats (e.g. BMP, TIFF, PNG, GIF).
