Web Snapshot Description
With the help of Web SnapShot you can easily capture parts of web pages and save them to image files. Unlike similar apps, this one comes with its very own web browser. It is lightweight, fast and does not require installation.
Portability perks
Since the tool is portable, it means that you can save it to any location on the disk and run it, as well as save it on a removable storage device and directly run it on any PC without having to install anything beforehand. More importantly, the app does not change Windows registry settings.
Well-structured GUI and intuitive options
The web browser is similar to most similar apps. All you have to do is input a link in the address bar to visit it. Only basic browsing commands are available, such as going to the previous or next page, stopping page load, refreshing the page, and using a search function. In addition, you can print info and access Internet Explorer Favorites.
The current web page can be saved to HTML or MTH format. It is possible to pick the JPEG quality level, hide the toolbar and status bar, view the current page's source code, as well as to extract links. By entering editing mode, you can select any elements from the page and save them to JPEG format.
Evaluation and conclusion
The tool had a good response time and worked smoothly during our evaluation, without causing Windows to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. We have not come across any unpleasant surprises throughout our evaluation. Although it is not particularly feature-rich, Web SnapShot offers a simple method to saving any web page elements to JPG images.
