WebSpirit Description
WebSpirit is a web browser built on Mozilla Firefox rendering engine, Gecko, and uses Microsoft Internet Explorer's download manager and other tools.
Familiar interface
Similar to Internet Explorer's layout, most features are visible in the upper toolbar control panel. The program comes with the common features available in most mainstream browsers like tabs, favorite pages, browsing history, and more. Similar to Microsoft's browser, the application offers a small Internet search bar where users can set various services, like Google, Yahoo, and so on.
Typical browsing features
Each browsing session is memorized by the tool so users won't have to manually introduce their target address each time. Pages can be saved to HTML only, or the whole content and favorite pages can be saved online or on the computer. Users can also print their websites straight from the toolbar, and email compatibility is also present. In fact, the tool asks right from the setup process the user's default email account for immediate synchronization.
For a more detailed web page access, users can set the encoding and access the page's source. In this regard similarities with Internet Explorer are quite visible since the entire set of tools and features is imported from Microsoft's browser. However, thanks to Mozilla's Gecko layout engine, the website can read web content like HTML, CSS, XUL, and JavaScript. This feature helps the browser send an accurate page format straight to your printer.
The web browser also helps users to automatically fill forms by introducing their personal information, and later have the website fill online forms automatically for them.
Conclusion
WebSpirit is a web surfing app that uses features from both Internet Explorer and Firefox. The overall layout is inspired by Internet Explorer, with most customization options being copied straight from Microsoft's browser. However, the Java and HTML compatibility is given by Mozilla's layout engine, which ultimately makes this little browser an interesting alternative tool to all other mainstream web surfing applications out there.
