WimPing Description

WimPing is a tiny application designed to test the connectivity strength between your computer and a remote one by sending ping commands to IP addresses or domain names.
It doesn't integrate complex options or customization preferences, making it accessible to all types of users, even the ones inexperienced with ping tools.

Requires .NET Framework to work properly

There is no setup kit available. Instead, WimPing is wrapped in a single executable file that can be saved to a preferred directory on the disk or copied to a removable storage unit, in order to seamlessly launch it on any PC with minimum effort.
It doesn't add new entries to the system registry or create files on the disk without your permission. However, it was built with the aid of .NET Framework, so you must have this platform installed to get it up and running without any issues.

Enter IP addresses or domain names to send pings

As far as the interface goes, the software application adopts a standard .NET Framework form and doesn't put emphasis on graphical elements, preferring to focus on functionality instead.
All you have to do is type or paste the IP address of a computer or a website name, as well as click a button to start sending the ping signal. This operation is executed continuously until you manually halt it.
During this time, you can check out the time and date of each sent ping, along with the URL or IP address, status (e.g. success, timed out), and roundtrip time (milliseconds). All of these details can be saved to a plain text document for closer inspection, by specifying not only the output directory and file name, but also the extension.

Evaluation and conclusion

Unsurprisingly from such a small-sized utility, it had minimal impact on the computer's performance in our tests, running on a low amount of CPU and RAM. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't freeze or crash.
Although it doesn't contain more advanced options, WimPing delivers a straightforward solution for sending pings to remote computers. It's geared toward all types of users.
