Win7AudioSwitcher Description
Win7AudioSwitcher is a compact and portable piece of software that provides a fast method for switching through default audio devices. It targets users who have Windows 7 and devices with support for HDMI.
As installation is not a prerequisite, you can drop the executable file anywhere on the hard disk and run it immediately.
Alternatively, you can move Win7AudioSwitcher to a removable storage unit (e.g. flash disk) to run it on any computer without installing anything.
What's more important is that Windows' registry does not get updated with new entries, and leftover files are not kept on the hard disk after removal.
The interface is represented by a small frame that resembles a widget, showing the default audio devices installed and recognized by your system.
An icon is placed in the system tray area as well and, by accessing the right-click menu, you can disable the auto-switch mode or hide the gadget and notifications, aside from choosing a preferred audio device.
The volume level is also controllable via the mouse scrollwheel, and you can use a hotkey to quickly switch through audio devices.Win7AudioSwitcher remembers the default sound device based on the primary monitor, and it supports a command-line option.
The utility barely needs CPU and RAM to work properly, so it doesn't interfere with the user activity in any way. It has a good response time and switches through the devices swiftly and without experiencing issues. We haven't come across any problems in our tests. All in all, Win7AudioSwitcher offers the simplest solution possible to choose a preferred audio device.
